This was a project for Advanced Typography called "Exercises in Style". The premise was to choose an event to design a poster for and explore designs through styles like expository, biomorphically, representationally, sympathetically, ambiguously, and antithetically. Those posters would be combined into pairs to make new posters and of those new posters a super hybrid poster was created.
I made up an event about RC rock crawling. The torn paper with lines is an abstract interpretation of sedimentary lamination on rocks from my biomorphic poster. The clay type, background and clouds come from my antithetical poster.
This project was difficult for me but I ended up liking the final product. It was a great way to challenge myself and reminder for future projects to think outside of the box and explore in my design.
